Teaser Tuesday

Welcome to the first Teaser Tuesday of February.  I can't believe that it's February already.  I must be honest.  I haven't been able to read that much.  With Annabelle taking up most of my time and the fact that she is reluctant to being laid down when she sleeps makes it pretty impossible to hold a book and be able to turn the pages as well.  But what I have been able to read has been is from Darker Still, A Novel of Magic Most Foul by Leanna Renee Hieber.  I have been reading this book for almost a year now.  LOL  I got it at Dragon Con in 2012 when I was introduced to the author.  I only read about 10 pages when I received it then, then life happened and wasn't able to pick it back up and finish it.  I finally pulled it back off the shelf when Annabelle was born thinking that I would be able to finish it.  I've been able to get ten more pages read.  I'm setting a goal to have this book finished by Valentines!

With that being said, here are you a few sentences from page 194.
Shaking his head, he stated, "I cannot allow you to undertake such rish on my account, to descend into the very depths of Hell itself."
"It's not Hell, it's the Five Points.  Though I have heard the two equated."

Teaser Tuesday: The Murder of King Tut

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

The Murder of King Tut by
James Patterson
& Martin Dugard

"At first Yuye was certain Aye was going to kill her and dispose of her body.  He'd forcibly pulled her out of Tut's bedroom, his grip so tight that she thought her wrist might break."

Sadly, I had not read past page 15.  I started this book back around Christmas but just wasn't able to get into it. It just didn't grab my attention.  I picked it back up last night in hopes that I could change my mind about it.  I made it to page 20. Usually, I would have completed this book about three days after I started it, for the simple fact that it is about Ancient Egypt.  When I opened the book and read the two lines for today's Teaser Tuesday I continued to read and became excited!  I'm going to have to push through this meager beginning to get to the wonderfulness that awaits!

What are you currently reading?  Would you care to give me a tease in the comments?
