Teaser Tuesday: The Murder of King Tut

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

The Murder of King Tut by
James Patterson
& Martin Dugard

"At first Yuye was certain Aye was going to kill her and dispose of her body.  He'd forcibly pulled her out of Tut's bedroom, his grip so tight that she thought her wrist might break."

Sadly, I had not read past page 15.  I started this book back around Christmas but just wasn't able to get into it. It just didn't grab my attention.  I picked it back up last night in hopes that I could change my mind about it.  I made it to page 20. Usually, I would have completed this book about three days after I started it, for the simple fact that it is about Ancient Egypt.  When I opened the book and read the two lines for today's Teaser Tuesday I continued to read and became excited!  I'm going to have to push through this meager beginning to get to the wonderfulness that awaits!

What are you currently reading?  Would you care to give me a tease in the comments?

Birthday Giveaway winner

Hello my beautiful Goddesses! I hope this past few weeks have been most excellent for you. Because it sure has been for me. Turning 30 has been awesome and I still feel like I'm 26! The only sad part about this past few weeks is that I haven't had my laptop. There was some weird thing going on with some of my software so I took it to my step dad to fix and it even had him baffled. So needless to say it had to pretty much reboot my computer. :( Now for some awesome news. The winner of my giveaway is Brooke(SayAnythingBrOOke).

Waiting on Wednesday: Kiss The Dead by Laurell K Hamilton

****"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Jill at the Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.****

Kiss The Dead by Laurell K. Hamilton
(Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, Book 21)
Release Date: June 5, 2012

When a fifteen-year-old girl is abducted by vampires, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Anita Blake to find her. And when she does, she’s faced with something she’s never seen before: a terrifyingly ordinary group of people—kids, grandparents, soccer moms—all recently turned and willing to die to avoid serving a master. And where there’s one martyr, there will be more…

But even vampires have monsters that they’re afraid of. And Anita is one of them…

Why I can't wait:  Laurell never disappoints me with her Anita Blake novels.  I have read all of them of course and with the exception of Hit List, I own them all too.  I'm waiting for Hit List to be in paperback.  I'm a little OCD when it comes to my books, if it's a series, they all have to be paperback or hardcover, there can't be both.

Side note: Please be advised that the Anita Blake series is for ADULTS.  There is a lot of adult content.

Blog Birthday

It's going to be my blog birthday on the 31st.

Not much has changed in the past year on this blog but plenty has in my personal life.  I will spare my lovely readers all the details.  :)

My little baby girl is getting so big now and is into everything.  She is becoming a LOT more independent and doesn't want me to play with her :(.  So this means this momma is getting more time now to get the house clean and get things photographed and get some bloggy blog blog going on.

I'm very excited to get back into my writing.  I'm going to work on the site as well and make it a little more personable.  I'm also going to start reviewing books.

I didn't make any New Year Resolutions but I do want to offer more for my readers.  I feel that I have let you down with only posting maybe once or twice a month.  You deserve so much more then that.

Now for something absolutely adorable.

Essie Luxeffects Shine of the Times

Punkadoodle has been sick.  She has congestion again.   Then I got sick too.  :(  No worries tho, we are both better now.  While I was in Walgreens getting my scrip I thought I would check out the makeup and polishes.

Like always.

Of course I found something of interest.   It was a pretty display of the Essie Luxeffects collections. I picked up As Gold as it Gets, Pure Pearlfection and two of this beauty right here, Shine of the Times.

This is the only picture I have currently.  Yes it's from my phone.  I apologize for the really bad cuticles.  This weather here in Kentucky has been crazy stupid.  For instance, on Thursday of this past week it was snowing and school was cancelled for Friday, while everyone played in the snow.  Today we had severe thunderstorms with not one but TWO tornado warnings.  We also got some hail!  Anyways, here is the picture.  When I swatch the other two I will do an updated swatch of this one too.

In the bottle you don't see the green.  When I was looking at the bottle all I saw was a copper and a gold flake.  It wasn't till after the application did it show it's true colors.  There is a green tone, fuchsia tone, and a gold tone. The copper that I saw in the bottle didn't come out on the nail.  :(
